What do we do?

The Building Regulations 2018 require building owners to maintain essential safety measures so that they operate satisfactorily and more importantly safely.
Building owners must prepare an annual essential safety measures report on the buildings essential safety measures. They may authorise an agent, such as Victorian Essential Safety Building Inspections (VESBI), to complete the report. The annual essential safety measures report needs to be in accordance with the approved form. VESBI ensures compliance with items listed within the Building Regulations 2018 and ensures they have been maintained according to the National Construction Code and Building Code of Australia. Failure to comply may result in an infringement notice being issued by Council or the Fire Authority, along with a fine. It may also result in prosecution and more substantial fines. More importantly, non-compliance could place building occupants at risk, as well as passers-by and the occupants of adjoining buildings. |
Why VESBI?Unlike other fire services, VESBI specialises in producing annual essential safety measures reports, using digital technology to quickly reference the relevant National Construction Code and Building Code of Australia for each essential safety measure and provide our Fire Compliance Officers up-to-date information while they are conducting their inspections.
